OFMB Internships

Internships really are a great learning experience.  But at the Outpost of Freedom Missions Base, interns make the world go round! Because our base team is small, OFMB interns get lots of time to take projects and go for it!

Our internships are basically hands-on, boots-on-the-ground learning. They will see the ups and downs of ministry life, meet some amazing people, experience different cultures and see the front-side and back-side of RBM and the missions base.

Honestly, there is always something to do and something to learn for every age and every level of experience. We customize our internships for the individual so that they can not only learn but also contribute to the ministry in a meaningful way. So, some of our interns may be learning leadership, while others worship leading or curriculum development. Our summer outreaches require tons of logistical support. Our weekly children’s Christian Education program has never ending tasks coupled with great teachers to support. We have even had administrative interns. So drop any preconceived ideas and chat with us about our intern opportunities!

Contact us through the Contact Page for a more detailed overview of current intern projects, the application process as well as the position descriptions.

Daily Responsibilities: (assigned from annual project/program lists) On any given day you could be doing any given thing! Honestly, projects are assigned by need and often that is seasonal. But most interns will get to be exposed to almost every area of the ministry. The most frequent internships for students are the Missions Internships and those are very hands-on with prep of field gear, food & water, activities equipment, educational materials & supplies and more! Our Christian Education interns are helping with the prep and distribution of our Children’s Ministry curriculum and supplies that serve as many as 300 children weekly in multiple locations. They might also assist with training programs for teachers or classroom mentoring.

Some of our interns have been able to assist us with weekend Christian Education blitzes on specific topics like praise and worship and various family topics. Most months we have work crews going out for maintenance and repair projects. At certain times of the year they might help out a single mom through our Families in Transition program. At other times of the year there is a heavy demand at our base office operations and we always need help with marketing and fundraising. So, let’s talk! And see what is a good fit for you!
