Short-Term Missions Teams We are happy to facilitate a trip for your youth or church group, but most of our outreach teams are "Open Teams." Those teams are usually made up of short-term missionaries from multiple churches or even a couple of families. Almost all of our teams are multi-generational and multi-cultural. Its wonderful how God puts a team together! So whether alone or with others join a team! You will be blessed!
Some of the best things about an OFMB mission trip:
you aren't doing a "drive-by" mission - rather you connect to on-going ministry that will be sustained when you go home
you don't have to learn another language
you don't need a passport
all your gear is ready when you get here
the food is good
most of the outreaches are great for kids
it doesn't cost an arm and a leg
you can customize your trip (mix and match work crew, VBS, street evangelism and more)
How it works. Each team is responsible for their own transportation. Most often housing is in a church, or house facility, or camping. Some locations have a motel that are within 30 minutes to an hour away. The OFMB has field kitchen and field shower equipment, along with camping tents and gear. VBS supplies and equipment, carnival and health screening equipment, painting and maintenance equipment, and more is available through the OFMB inventory. Upon your arrival, all your ministry supplies and project gear, food and water will be loaded and ready to roll-out from our Mesa, AZ base. Hmmm, guess that's why some people call it a mission trip in a box!
Where will we go? That depends on your team, your skills, your desires, and guidance from your leaders. The OFMB leadership team will connect you with a local or native leader that has a desire to host a team to enhance the ministry they are already doing in their area. We work with churches in cities, but we especially love to take teams to work with our pastor-friends in the Navajo Nation and on among the Apache tribes.
